Variety SA Aussie Muscle Car Run

In 2022 Angelo took part in the first Aussie Muscle Car Run for Variety SA the Children’s Charity which supports children and their families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with disability.

The work of VarietySA allows children to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. They make sure the kids who miss out can always join in, because all kids deserve a fair go.

The run saw 50 Muscle cars, 100 entrants, 17 officials and 2 mobile workshops travel 1,363 km over eight days from Adelaide through Clare and Port Augusta to finish in Glenelg, taking in racetracks at Mallala and The Bend in between.

Angelo was co-driver for John Desteno in Car 73 which alone raised close to $15,000.

Angelo and John are looking forward to the next Aussie Muscle Car Run which will see their run head interstate to Bathurst & Philip Island in late October/November 2023.

Childhood Cancer Association

After having three children of his own, Oracle Lending Solution Director Angelo Benedetti felt he needed to give back to the community and decided to align himself with the Childhood Cancer Association, a not-for-profit charity, whose sole purpose is to support the children and families of South Australia dealing with cancer.

In 2012, Angelo found his first opportunity to raise money for CCA through a 165km group bike ride where each participant received donations for their ride. He raised $2,030 for his event. This was his catalyst for his drive to continue his efforts. He continued to raise small amounts for CCA but in 2016 he decided he wanted to up the ante by organising the Paper Crane Ball for 500 people which raised $92,805. This money raised helped to support the funding for hospital visitation programs, family support groups and the super important brothers and sisters support group.

He continued to do small yearly community fundraisers and continued on the fundraising committee for CCA. In 2022 Angelo, along with the fundraising committee organised the Gold Ribbon Gala event at the Adelaide Convention Centre for 760 people. This once again was a success, raising $429,522, once again to support the many programs and community housing offered by CCA to the children and families dealing with cancer.

2022 marked the 40th anniversary of the Childhood Cancer Association being in South Australia and Angelo and the committee organised another major event for 750 people at the Adelaide Convention Centre in September to mark this significant anniversary.
